A North Wales Crusaders scale Formula 1 car will take to London in March as its team hopes to progress to the worldwide stage of the ‘F1 in Schools’ competition.
Students of Connah’s Quay High School have entered the competition for the past four years and have this year been named regional champions for North and Mid Wales.
And, as a result, they will up against competitors from all over the UK when they visit the ExCeL Arena in London with the vue to progressing to the worldwide finals, which will be held in Austin, Texas in November.
The team were also invited to the Engineering Education Scheme Wales Awards in Llandudno yesterday to promote engineering and show the amount of work that they have put into their product.
Crusaders supporter and teacher at the school Chris Jennings, who has worked with students on this project, is delighted to be using the club’s brand on the car.
“It’s fantastic to have the support of Crusaders and to work together promoting each other’s sports”, he said.
“Our cars and pit area display all have the Crusaders logo, along with all of our other sponsors. Any support we have through promoting will be of benefit to the team and will help us to progress through to the world finals.”
